Toenail Treatments

Fungal infections that have thickened or distorted the nails. These can become difficult to manage with self-care but can be painlessly reduced to make them more comfortable, and advice can then be given on their ongoing care.

Corns and Callus

Callus (hard skin) and corns can build up over areas of high pressure, possibly due to a person's particular manner of walking or from excess friction and rubbing from footwear. The hard skin can be painlessly reduced and the corns removed and every effort made to reduce the causes of the corns.

Athlete's foot (tinea pedis) - although a fungal infection, if left, this can cause cracks in the skin that can then lead to bacterial skin infections and is best treated early. Advice can be given on treatments and further prevention.

Diabetic Feet

People with diabetes are at particular risk of foot problems because of how it can affect the circulation and sensations in your feet, changes to the nerves can even cause the shape of your feet to alter resulting in areas of higher pressure.

Dry skin can also be the result of neurological changes.

As well as footcare treatment a diabetic assessment can be carried out and advice given on footcare and footwear.
